You can always tell Summer is in full swing in my household because the days are endless and FULL of activity. It’s hard to be tied to the computer chair when I can be swimming, or shopping, or having frozen yogurt in delectable flavors. There are weddings, out of town trips, and all sorts of other adventures.
That doesn’t mean work stops all together. I have two releases planned for the summer. My Wonderland story, which is in its final stages. I foresee an end of June release. And Hollow Tree Vol 2, which is just about done, needs an editing touch. That one might see an August release. Of course I’m working on my own stuff, when I’m not distracted by the sunshine. :)
In an effort to juggle all of Summer’s activities and craziness, I decided to take on a personal project of my own. For those of you who read my blog regularly, I’ve been on Weight Watchers for almost a year and it has been one of the best decisions I ever made for myself. I lost 41lbs, got more confidence, energy, and found a love for exercise I didn’t think I would ever have in Zumba! (love, love, LOVE!)
But, as with all things, I stalled… plateaued, some call it, and started to emotionally go backward. That is a BIG, big, no no. I needed to prove to myself I could see this to the end. To my goal: 30 more lbs. So, I decided the only way to do it, is to do it. Head first.
I’ve gotten a lot of inspiration and go-to attitude from Joely Sue Burkhart, an old Drollerie Press buddy of mine, an author I respect for her brilliant fantasy mind, and her resolve. Her Weight Watchers journey has encouraged me and pushed me to do more than I ever thought possible. I don’t think she knows the influence she’s had on me, as I’ve never really told her, but if you’re reading this, Joely, THANK YOU!
So, knowing we needed a kick in the pants, Hubby ordered P90x. Any of you who’ve seen the infomercial know it’s pretty intense. Non-stop, strengthening, body changing type stuff. I said, what do I have to lose, except some more pounds? I’m almost a week into it, and as hard as it is, I’m kind of loving it!
So yea. 6am wake up calls, exercise, breakfast, cleanup, playtime, field trip, writing, park, pool, etc, etc. Midnight bedtime. Ah, the long summer days. :)
Expect a new freebie this Friday. I know I’ve been bad about it. I hope to have something up that will make up for it. In the meantime, I hope you guys are out enjoying the sunshine. It’s too beautiful to be cooped up inside.
