As we get closer to the end of the week, the kids at work get more and more insane. It’s like, instinctively, their bodies are preparing for the week off, and all of their energy is building up to this giant release. That release is going to explode tomorrow. Hopefully, it will not explode all over my tables, so I don’t have to clean up the mess.
The 6th graders are probably the worst. Between the overly sexual conversations (one girl asked a kid at her table if he was a virgin, mind you this is 6th grade, people!), and the building tension that will culminate into a fight, any fight, I know tomorrow is going to be a day to remember. My only fear: food fight. Because then we have a lockdown, and I have a baseball game to go to tomorrow night. The last thing I want to worry about is being stuck in that school longer than I have to.
Either way, I’m anxiously looking forward to the weekend and the coming spring break. I love the little kids, but as they get older, they’re more and more impossible to handle. A fourth grader today told me I looked cute. I wasn’t sure if I should be flattered or grossed out. I was just disturbed. When did kids start becoming tiny adults? What happened to the innocence? Sheesh. I feel so old.
Between the busy weekend I have planned and the exciting trips I plan to take, I think my muse and I are going to be very happy with each other this week. Plus, I’m getting my hair done, which always makes me feel good! I’m dyeing it a copper caramel type color and cutting it! FINALLY! It’s past my shoulders and because it’s so thick and heavy, it barely curls the way it’s supposed to. So the cut will give it a nice bounce again. And since I’m getting it cut, I’ll probably have it flat ironed, so I can wear it straight for a while. I don’t get that done often because 1- it burns my hair, 2- it takes forever. But it usually looks really good. I’m thinking of getting my hair cut like that picture of Kelly Clarkson up there. I love the choppy look. Maybe, if it comes out real nice, I’ll take a picture! 😉
