One of These Days…

What do a wild karaoke night, a calypso wedding held outside in Boston, and giving out samples of New Diet Pepsi Max all have to do with each other? Nothing really, except they were all part of my insane weekend. I’m tired. Very tired. Couldn’t go to work, woke up at 2pm, because I crashed tired. Who knew such a busy weekend would result in my body getting sick of me? I sure didn’t. My stupid body couldn’t keep up with my mind. I was going strong until last night, when my eyes literally started to close on their own. I don’t remember the last time I got that sleepy. It actually got me excited. I suffer from bad insomnia in the summers. It’s the heat I think.

But anyway, so yea. I went to a friend’s house and we did insane karaoke all night Friday. I had a ridiculously good time. We stayed til late. They ate a bunch of crap, which tested my diet skills to the max. I PASSED! I had a grilled chicken salad with balsamic vinagrette. So I’m very proud of myself. 😀 Hubby sang “Like a Virgin” by Madonna, and forever scarred the group. I swear, most people think he’s so quiet, but I know. The man is insane.

Saturday was a rush rush day as we drove like 3 hours up to Massachusetts for a friend’s daughters wedding. It was lovely. Small, personal, outside overlooking the harbor. I enjoyed it very much. Only problem. It was 3 hours away and it started at like 7pm, which meant that I got home at 2:30am. Yea, not so happy about that.
Especially because Sunday I had to be up early. And I had to work! Argh. I don’t know what I was thinking booking a job on Sunday, but you know, I figured, I could use the money and it’s a product I knew would do well. I stood at Target for 4 hours and change and gave out Pepsi samples. Spoke to a few funny people. Laughed, smiled. It was fun, overall. Worth the money for what I did. Only thing is my legs are still aching from standing for nearly 5 hours. *sigh* And I was in sneakers. LOL Should I feel like such a lazy bum?
Either way, I’m just glad to be home. I told hubby he dare not make plans for this weekend. I can’t stand to do anything else. I need a BREAK. I’m burning out. I’d also like to focus for a weekend on just writing and editing. I feel completely detached from my projects. Last nite I stayed up editing and did like 4 pages in like a span of 3 hours due to my eyes constantly closing! I need to be able to FOCUS.
On a VERY pleasant note, I received the book I won over at TKA! It was Gena Showalter’s new contemporary romance, Catch a Mate. I was weary. I’ve learned to like Gena’s paranormal stuff, since Playing With Fire, but I don’t read contemporaries. I tend to stick with fantasies and sci-fi. Man, I’m so glad I did. I devoured the book. It was beautiful and fun and fascinating. And the hero had an English accent. *sighs dreamily* Yea, can you say heaven? I wanted to eat him up!
Ok, that’s it for me. I have to go get some things done around the house. Then sit back down for more editing/writing. Hope you’ve had a great Monday!

  1. Sounds like you had a fast paced weekend! 😀 Nothing wrong with that. I admit I’m tired as a dog right now, but I have things I still need to do – the laundry for example. 😛 LOL @ like a virgin! ^_^ Some things you really need to carry a handycam around for. Hehehehe!Glad you had a great time. Now hopefully you can catch up on your rest.

  2. Oh, gosh, I almost forgot… the BSDM novel! Let me know when you get the review up so I can check it out. Right now I’m reading one for RD that’s pretty good. *eyebrow wiggle* The author is Reece Gabriel, and this is the first book I’ve ever ready by them.
