November is a busy month for writers.
Between NaNoWriMo, Fast Draft, and Sven, authors are adding huge chunks to their manuscripts, starting new books, and looking to finish projects by the new year. The crisp fall air tends to inspire, to remind us of those far off resolutions we had to finish and sell that book we’ve been slaving over!
I wasn’t deluded enough to think I could handle something like NaNo this year. I’m in the middle of edits for a novella, I’ve got my fantasy novel out on submission, I’m working on its sequel, and I’m a week away from being 6 months pregnant. I have yet to fix up the baby room (I try not to panic when I think of the fact that our small place is going to be difficult to rearrange), and I’m still promoting and trying to sell the print book I had released in September.
But I won’t lie- the feel of the writing season, the itch to do the impossible and prevail- is contagious. Everyday I wake up wanting to get at least 2k on paper, if only to see a finished project by December 1st. I don’t know how likely that is, but I do know that I’ll try. 🙂
I hope the rest of you are typing along and keeping yourselves busy fulfilling your dreams!
