2:00am – CBear and I arrived home from Cape Cod. I don’t know why we continue to do that to ourselves. We stay as late as possible, mostly so it’s not a wasted day driving, but the drive is three hours and change and leaving after 10pm is obviously a bad idea. Not to mention, CBear was falling asleep so I had to speak to him throughout the drive (fighting the urge to pass out myself), and stopping to use the bathroom every 45 minutes is difficult after midnight since very little is open!
Either way, the trip was loads of fun with all of the little signature things that make it a Cape Cod visit. CBear’s family has lived there since he was born and so they have a nice house by a pond. His cousin breeds horses and it’s rather relaxing looking out the living room window to see Tilly and Cesar playing in the snow. Oh, I meant to mention that. We got hit with a snowstorm while up there. About 8 inches. Mind you, it’s their first major storm of the year.
This wouldn’t seem like such a strange occurence except for the past three years, CBear and I have been snowed in by a major snow storm that hits only after we arrive. 3 years! I’m starting to think we’re snow fairies or something. 😉
The family did surprise me with a small baby shower.
I got some great clothes and some fun memorabilia to take home. All I have to say is Peanut is going to be one handsome baby. 😉
I also got great news from my Freya’s Bower editor. My paranormal contemp story, Surfacing, is now with proofing editors which means that in a few weeks I should know where I stand editing wise and will hopefully have a release date to share with all of you.
